StanceWars was held on July 6th this year in the Bellevue College parking garage in Bellevue, Washington. The same company that created The Old School Reunion and WaterWerks, Happenstance Event Productions, is the sole organizer behind StanceWars. This year the event ran from 6pm to 10pm and was followed by an after party that went until 3am.

Even though five floors are reserved for the event, only the top 100 cars were allowed to park on the top floor of the garage. All of the participants on this floor were encouraged to create interesting displays to go along with their cars.
According to Mike Tolliver, the organizer of the event, nearly 5,000 wristbands were sold. This year the StanceWars crew chose the ALS Association (charity for Lou Gehrig’s disease) to receive a large portion of the proceeds from the extra parking fee they charged.
Happenstance Event Productions knew that StanceWars would be even larger this year so they made sure to bring even more volunteers this year. They also opened up 20 more media spots.
Scion Racing was a major sponsor of StanceWars and Meister Werks, Art of Stance, That-Steez, and StreetSweeperNW were present along with many other local brands.

Happenstance Event Productions raised the bar this year with StanceWars. Mike told us that next year they will be starting the event earlier and opening two more parking lots to support the expected increase in spectators. Make sure to look for this event in July 2014.
