Matt created ImportMeet.com in 2011 after noticing a lack of media websites dedicated exclusively to import cars. Although he's employed as an engineer and has no formal training in journalism, his skills continue to develop as the editor for the site. He enjoys writing feature car articles, technical build/project articles, and organizing events. Matt drives a 2023 Honda Civic Type R and a 1990 LS-swapped Mazda RX-7.

We wanted to take some time to introduce each business that will be hosting or judging a particular portion of the IMSCC. I’ve traveled to Japan multiple times in the last few years but I have yet to be able to attend the "holy grail" of tuner car shows – the Tokyo Auto Salon. Ever since I was in high school, I’ve wanted to attend this show and experience what the Japanese automotive scene is like firsthand. Now that I’ve attended, I have to say that it was both a unique and awesome experience.

As a car enthusiast, it’s not often that you get the opportunity to take a road trip in your modified car. It’s even less common to go on a long distance drive with a group of other car enthusiasts. Do you see anything wrong with this picture? How many magazines dedicated to import cars can you see on the shelf? I spot two: DSPORT and Import Tuner. While this selection may not be representative of all of the magazines available, I've noticed that over the last 10 years, the amount of magazines dedicated to import cars has been reduced significantly. Even though Super Street, Import Tuner, DSPORT and Modified are still around, I miss two in particular… Sport Compact Car and Turbo & High Tech Performance were magazines that I always had the latest issues of back in high…

In update 14, I went over the installation of the T56 transmission and driveshaft. Since the clutch slave cylinder is an internal type, it was installed during the clutch and transmission installation. To make the GM slave cylinder function correctly, a properly-sized clutch master cylinder must replace the stock FC clutch master cylinder. LS Swap FC RX-7 Clutch Master Cylinder & Hydraulic Line The best part about doing a fairly common swap is that a lot of the required research has been done already. A company named Hinson Super Cars produces various parts for LS-swapped vehicles. They are somewhat of…

This year I was able to attend the Seattle International Auto Show as media for Import Meet. The benefit of being media is that on the first day of the show, the organizers let you onto the floor before the general public. This gave me exclusive access to all of the cars a few hours before the doors opened.
