It's 2011 and times have changed considerably since the 90s, especially in the automotive industry. With new technologies and the demand for efficiency, the market in which current automobile manufacturers are targeting has shifted. As can be seen from this post about the Evo, many have decided that hybrids or electric cars are the answer.

Import Meet has decided to open the doors to the regional forum for the Pacific Northwest! Since the Import Meet team and many of our newer members are from Washington state, this was the logical choice as the first regional forum to open. We plan on organizing meets and cruises in the area and being a strong presence in various aspects of the import car community. Feel free to post and introduce yourself to your fellow import car owners in your area. By our region setting an example of how a regional forum should be, people from other areas will…
I was watching show called Chasing Classic Cars last night on HD theater and it got me thinking. Of all of the import cars we have available right now (let's say 2010 and older) which have the ability of being that timeless classic that everyone lusts after in 10-15 years? I thought I would make a list of my top 5 and then see what everyone else thought via the comments. Without further ado, here is my list: Honda/Acura NSX – What can I say, I'm a pretty big Honda fanboy, so…
Today my car rolled over to 30,000 miles and it inspired me to write this post. I'll give you some background on my S2000. I bought the car a little over 3 years ago from an older gentleman when the car had 7900 miles on it. The car was a 2001, so the miles were incredibly low for the year. I paid a fair price for it and drove it off the consignment lot with a big smile on my face the entire way home. At first, I was determined to keep the miles low and drive it only on…
Today I had the pleasure of heading down to a meet organized by Northwest Nissans at Golden Gardens park in Seattle, WA. Despite the rain, many Nissan owners and other import owners showed up for one of the first big meets of 2011. It had a great turnout with some amazing cars. I estimate that at its peak, the park had approximately 300 cars present. Even parking was limited (I had to park on the street) but everyone seemed to have a great time. With the exception of a Mustang revving and causing a ruckus, there were no incidents to…

Let me be the first to say, I really love to modify my vehicle. I tend to look at a stock car as a blank canvas, ready for an owner to spread paint and make it their own. One of the main reasons that I mod is so that my car can be unique amongst a sea of similar models of that car. It has become my creative outlet and a way to express myself since I…
Everyone at Import Meet would like to express our sincere condolences to anyone who has been affected by the earthquake and tsunami in Japan in the last few weeks. I personally know a few people who live in Japan (all are ok) and this really put things in perspective for me. Show how much you care and please donate to the Red Cross in their aid effort for Japan.
Today, Universal Pictures released their latest teaser trailer for Fast Five, the next installment in the Fast and the Furious franchise. With already over 2 million views and over 4700 likes on YouTube, it appears that this one will be just as successful as the past movies. Vin Diesel and Paul Walker return in this one alongside Tyrese Gibson and Jordana Brewster. The plot appears to be structured around the final scene in Fast and Furious when Mia and Brian break Dom out of custody and the repercussions that they face after doing this. They must pull one final job…
